Background

Luckcare PVO was founded in 2023 by a group of people who shared the common vision of reducing poverty through the initiation of various programs and projects earmarked for the youth, the women, the elderly and the less privileged in the society. The founders of the association are Luckmore Gapa.

After realizing that most of the youth were not being productive and were ending up spending their time in bars and clubs taking dangerous drugs and substances that undermine their wellbeing especially post the COVID 19 period when most of the people spend their time at home, the founders embarked on programs which were meant to mobilize the youths such that they would spend their times doing somethings productive rather than taking drugs and gambling. As such we started organizing some local soccer tournaments and created employment to over 500 youths around Dzivarasekwa between 2023 and 2024. We also started talent search programs whereby youths with different talents would exhibit their talent and we would sponsor or find some means of sponsorship for them.
